Article 51:

Les associations sportives agréées pour la pratique du tir ou autorisées pour la préparation militaire doivent en dehors des heures d'accès aux installations prendre les mesures de sécurité suivantes:

a) Les armes des paragraphes 1 et 2 de la 1re1 catégorie et les armes de la 4e2 catégorie sont soit rendues inutilisables comme il est précisé à l'alinéa a de l'article 493 ci-dessus, soit conservées sans être démontées dans des coffres-forts ou des armoires fortes scellés dans les murs ou dans des chambres fortes. Elles peuvent également être conservées dans des resserres comportant une porte blindée et dont les ouvertures sont protégées par des barreaux ou des volets métalliques. Les munitions correspondantes sont conservées dans les mêmes conditions.

b) Les armes de la 5e4 et de la 7e5 catégorie sont enchaînées par passage d'une chaîne ou d'un câble dans les pontets, la chaîne ou le câble étant fixés au mur. A défaut, elles peuvent être munies d'un système de sécurité individuel assurant leur fixation.

L'accès aux armes est placé sous le contrôle d'une ou plusieurs personnes responsables désignées par le président de l'association.

Article 51:

Approved sports associations, for shooting practice or authorised for military training, must take, outside of opening hours, the following safety measures:

a) Firearms of paragraphs 1 and 2 of the 1st category,1 and firearms of the 4th category,2 must either be rendered unfit for use, as specified in paragraph a of Article 493 above, or stored, without being dismantled, in safes or secured cabinets that are sealed in walls, or in strongrooms. They may also be stored in storerooms with an armoured door and with openings protected with bars or metal shutters. Corresponding ammunition is stored in the same conditions.

b) Firearms of the 5th4 and 7th5 categories are chained by passing a chain or a cable through the trigger guards. The chain or the cable must be fixed to the wall. Failing that, they may be equipped with an individual security system ensuring that they are not removable.

Access to the firearms is placed under the control of one or many responsible persons selected by the president of the association.
