Article 47-1:
Toute personne physique qui acquiert en France auprès d'un armurier ou d'un particulier en présence d'un armurier une arme ou un élément d'arme du II de la 5e catégorie1 ou du I de la 7e catégorie2 fait une déclaration sur l'imprimé conforme au modèle fixé par l'arrêté prévu à l'article 121.
Pour les armes du II de la 5e catégorie1 et des paragraphes 1 et 2 du I de la 7e catégorie,2 cette déclaration est transmise par l'armurier au préfet du département du domicile du déclarant. Elle est accompagnée d'une copie d'un permis de chasser délivré en France ou à l'étranger ou de toute autre pièce tenant lieu de permis de chasser étranger revêtu de la validation de l'année en cours ou de l'année précédente ou, dans les conditions du 4- du II de l'article 39,3 d'une licence d'une fédération sportive ayant reçu, au titre de l'article 17 de la loi du 16 juillet 1984 susvisée, délégation du ministre chargé des sports pour la pratique du tir.
La présentation de l'un des titres prévus à l'alinéa précédent supplée à la production du certificat médical mentionné à l'article L. 2336-3 du code de la défense.4
Pour les armes du paragraphe 3 du I de la 7e catégorie,2 la déclaration est accompagnée du certificat médical mentionné à l'article L. 2336-3 du code de la défense,4 placé sous pli fermé, datant de moins de quinze jours, attestant que l'état de santé physique et psychique du déclarant n'est pas incompatible avec leur détention.
Le préfet délivre un récépissé de cette déclaration…

Article 47-1:
Any individual who purchases in France from a gunsmith [dealer], or from an individual in presence of a gunsmith, a firearm or a component of a firearm of II of the 5th category,1 or the I of the 7th category,2 must notify it on the form in accordance to the model set by the order under Article 121.
For firearms of II of the 5th category,1 of the paragraphs 1 and 2 of I of the 7th category,2 the gunsmith must forward the notification to the Prefect of the district of the place of residence of the purchaser. A copy of the hunting licence, issued in France or abroad, or any other document similar to a hunting licence, which must be valid for this year or the previous year, or, under the conditions of II-4 of Article 39,3 a licence from a sports federation that has received, under Article 17 of the above mentioned Law of July 16, 1984, delegation from the Minister in charge of Sports for shooting practice, must be attached to the notification.
The production of one of the licences provided for in the above paragraph compensates for the production of a health certificate, mentioned in Article L. 2336-3 of the Defence Code.4
For firearms of paragraph I-3 of the 7th category2 the health certificate, mentioned in Article L. 2336-3 of the Defence Code,4 placed in a sealed envelope, dated within fifteen days, attesting that the physical and psychiatric state of the purchaser is not incompatible with the possession, must be attached to the notification.
The Prefect issues a receipt of this notification…
