Enterprises involved in the sale of official and civilian weapons in accordance with the procedure established by law must submit information within three days to the internal affairs agency in the appropriate form on official and civilian weapons and ammunition sold, as well as on the buyer and, in the part of the form remaining with the buyer, include an appropriate note concerning acquisition of the weapon (except for compressed-air weapons or aerosol devices).
Within two weeks of acquiring an official or civilian weapon in accordance with the procedure established by law, State bodies and legal entities must register it with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and provide documents confirming that the weapons are legal.
Within two weeks of acquiring a firearm, hunting or sporting weapon in accordance with the procedure established by law, national of the Republic of Azerbaijan must register it with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. A personal file is maintained by the local internal affairs agencies on every citizen possessing or using a weapon.
