Artikel 13
1. Politieambtenaren zijn bevoegd vervoermiddelen te onderzoeken op de aanwezigheid van illegale vuurwapens, indien daartoe redelijkerwijs aanleiding bestaat op grond van:
a. een gepleegd strafbaar feit waarbij een vuurwapen is gebruikt, waarnaar door de politie gericht wordt gezocht;
b. een gepleegde overtreding van de verbodsbepalingen van de artikelen 3, 5 en 6;
c. aanwijzingen dat een strafbaar feit als bedoeld in de onderdelen a of b, in de onmiddellijke toekomst zal worden gepleegd.
2. De officier van justitie kan, indien uit feiten of omstandigheden blijkt dat gevaar dreigt voor de algemene veiligheid van personen, gelasten dat de bevoegdheid te vorderen dat de bevoegdheid vervoermiddelen te onderzoeken op illegaal vuurwapenbezit tegenover elk vervoermiddel kan worden uitgeoefend; een dergelijk bevel wordt slechts gegeven na schriftelijke machtiging daartoe, op een met redenen omkleed verzoek van de officier van justitie, verleend door de rechter-commissaris. Het bevel bevat een omschrijving van het gebied waarbinnen de bedoelde bevoegdheid mag worden uitgeoefend alsmede de geldigheidsduur, die niet langer dan twaalf uur mag bedragen. Het bevel bevat worts de feiten en omstandigheden, op grond waarvan de toepassing van de bevoegdheid noodzakelijk wordt geacht.
3. Bij dringende noodzaak kan de machtiging van de rechtercommissaris mondeling worden gegeven. De rechter-commissaris stelt in dat geval de machtiging binnen 24 uur op schrift.
4. Indien dit met oog op de uitoefening van de bevoegdheid, bedoeld in het eerste of tweede lid, noodzakelijk is, kan de politieambtenaar:
a. van de bestuurder van een vervoermiddel vorderen dat hij het vervoermiddel tot stilstand brengt, en
b. het vervoermiddel, zo nodig, naar een daartoe door hem aangewezen plaats overbrengen of door de bestuurder laten overbrengen.

Article
1. Police officers are authorized to search means of transportation for the presence of illegal firearms if there is reasonable cause to do so based on:
a. a committed criminal offence involving the use of a firearm, which is subject to a targeted search by the police;
b. a committed violation of the prohibitions of Articles 3, 5 and 6;
c. indications that an offence referred to in subsections a or b will be committed in the immediate future.
2. The public prosecutor may, if facts or circumstances indicate that there is a danger to the general safety of persons, order that the power to search means of transport for illegal possession of firearms may be exercised in respect of any means of transport; such an order shall be issued only after written authorization to that effect has been obtained from the examining magistrate on a reasoned application by the public prosecutor. The warrant shall contain a description of the area within which the said power may be exercised as well as the period of validity, which shall not exceed twelve hours. The warrant shall also contain the facts and circumstances on the basis of which the application of the power is considered necessary.
3. In case of urgent necessity, the authorization of the bankruptcy judge may be given orally. In that case, the supervisory judge shall put the authorization in writing within 24 hours.
4. If necessary for the purpose of exercising the power referred to in subsection 1 or 2, the police officer may:
a. require the driver of a means of transport to stop the means of transport, and
b. transfer the means of transport, if necessary, to a place designated by him or have it transferred by the driver.
