1. De in bewaring gegeven vuurwapenen en munitie worden, voor zover de minister van Justitie en Publieke Werken of een door hem aan te wijzen ambtenaar dat nodig acht, voor onmiddellijk gebruik ongeschikt gemaakt.

2. Over de in bewaring gegeven vuurwapenen en munitie kan de rechthebbende beschikken met goedvinden van de minister van Justitie en Publieke Werken of een door hem aan te wijzen ambtenaar.

3. Ter zake van de bewaring van vuurwapenen of munitie voor iemand die niet bevoegd is die voorwerpen voorhanden te hebben, is aan 's Landskas een bewaarloon verschuldigd, dat bij landsbesluit wordt vastgesteld. Tot verhaal van dat bewaarloon kunnen de voorwerpen, zodra dat nodig blijkt, en op last van de regering worden verkocht. De opbrengst is, na aftrek van het bewaarloon en de op de verkoop vallende kosten, ter beschikking van de rechthebbende.

1. The firearms and ammunition held in custody shall, to the extent deemed necessary by the Minister of Justice and Public Works or an official to be designated by him, be rendered unfit for immediate use.

2. Firearms and ammunition held in custody may be disposed of by the person entitled to them with the approval of the Minister of Justice and Public Works or an official to be designated by him.

3. With regard to the custody of firearms or ammunition for someone who is not authorized to have these objects in his possession, a custody fee shall be payable to the National Treasury, to be determined by national decree. In order to recover this storage fee, the objects may, as soon as necessary, and by order of the government, be sold. The proceeds, after deduction of the custody fee and the costs of the sale, shall be at the disposal of the entitled party.
