Si le comportement ou l'état de santé d'une personne détentrice d'armes et de munitions présente un danger grave pour elle-même ou pour autrui, le représentant de l'Etat dans le département peut lui ordonner, sans formalité préalable ni procédure contradictoire, de les remettre à l'autorité administrative, quelle que soit leur catégorie.

Sub-section 1: Handing Over a Firearm to the Administrative Authority

Article L. 312-7

If the behaviour or health of a person [who is an] owner of firearms and ammunition poses a serious threat to himself or to others, the State representative of [the person's] place of residence may order, without prior formality nor contradictory procedure, to hand over [the firearms] to the administrative authority, no matter the category.
