Artículo 7. Autoridades

Las autoridades indicadas en el inciso tercero del artículo 4º1 no podrán conceder las autorizaciones y permisos ni aceptar las inscripciones que se establecen en los artículos 4º, 5º y 6º de más de dos armas de fuego a nombre de una misma persona.

Sin embargo, por resolución fundada de la Dirección General de Movilización Nacional, se podrán otorgar las referidas autorizaciones y los permisos e inscripciones de más de dos armas a personas jurídicas o a personas naturales debidamente calificadas.

Se exceptúan de lo dispuesto en los incisos anteriores las personas naturales o jurídicas que estuvieren inscritas como coleccionistas, cazadores, deportistas o comerciantes autorizados para vender armas, y las empresas que contraten vigilancia privada.

Las personas autorizadas como coleccionistas quedan facultadas para mantener sus armas declaradas con sus características y estado original, debiendo adoptar las medidas de seguridad que se señalen en el reglamento.

Los cazadores podrán inscribir aquellas armas que correspondan a la naturaleza y clase de caza que efectúen, no pudiendo sus armas ser automáticas o semiautomáticas.

El reglamento establecerá las modalidades y limitaciones respecto a las autorizaciones, permisos e inscripciones a que se refieren los tres incisos anteriores.

Article 7. Authorities

Authorities listed in paragraph three of article 41 may not grant authorisations and permits, or accept registrations under articles 4, 5 and 6 of more than two firearms per person.

Nonetheless, upon a founded decision of the General Directorate of National Mobilisation, the aforementioned authorisations, permits and registrations may be issued to duly qualified individuals or legal persons for the use of more than two firearms.

Individuals or legal persons registered as collectors, hunters, athletes or dealers authorised for the sale of firearms, as well as private security companies, may be exempted from provisions of the above paragraphs.

Authorised collectors allowed to keep the firearms they have declared with their characteristics and original conditions, must adopt security measures indicated in the regulation.

Hunters may register firearms that correspond to the nature and type of hunt they practice, and their firearms may not be automatic or semi-automatic.

The regulation shall establish the means and limitations to authorisations, permits and registrations referred to in the three preceding paragraphs.
