Artículo 8. Certificado Médico

Para los efectos previstos en el ordinal d) del artículo 33 del Decreto 2535 de 1993, establécense como causales de no expedición del certificado médico su aptitud psicofísica para el uso de armas las siguientes:

1. Vista…
2. Oído…
c) Epilepsia.
3. Estado Mental…
4. Tóxicos Dependientes…
5. Aparatos Locomotores…
a) Pérdida anatómica o funcional…
6. Además, cualquier enfermedad, lesión o secuela no incluíada dentro de las anteriores, que por su actual gravedad evolución o pronóstico previsible durante el período de validez aconsejen la denegación del permiso de porte o de tenencia.

Parágrafo: Exceptúase de certificado médico de aptitud psicofísica, al personal del Ministerio de Defensa, Fuerzas Militares y Policía Nacional.

Article 8. Medical Certificate

In accordance with paragraph d) of article 33 of Decree 2535 of 1993, the following conditions shall disqualify the applicant from receiving the medical certificate testifying of his psycho-physical aptitude to use firearms:

1. Eyesight…
2. Hearing…
d) Epilepsy…
3. Mental conditions…
4. Drug addiction…
5. Locomotive disabilities…
a) Anatomical or functional disabilities…
6. Furthermore, any other disease, injury or side-effect not included amongst the above, which due to its severity or predicted evolution, should advise against the granting of the possession or carrying permit.

Paragraph: The personnel of the Ministry of Defence, Military Forces and National Police are exempted from the psycho-physical medical certificate.
