Artículo 58. Importación y Exportación Temporal

El Gobierno Nacional a través del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional podrá expedir licencia para importar armas, municiones y sus accesorios a empresas extranjeras o sus representantes en el país, con el propósito de realizar pruebas o demostraciones autorizadas. Así mismo, podrá expedir licencia de exportación temporal para reparaciones y competencias.

Al término de la licencia de importación los elementos deberán ser reexportados. El titular de la misma deberá remitir constancia escrita al Comando General de las Fuerzas Militares, acreditando tal hecho.

Parágrafo. Cuando el Gobierno Nacional autorice la importación de armas para extranjeros, la Aduana Nacional deberá hacer constar en el pasaporte de los interesados que éstas saldrán del país junto con su propietario, lo cual será exigido y verificado por las autoridades de inmigración.

Article 58. Temporary Import and Export

The Government, through the Ministry of National Defence, may issue licences for the importation of firearms, ammunition and their accessories to foreign companies or their representatives in the country, for the purpose of testing or for authorised demonstrations. Further, it may issue a temporary export licence for repairs and competitions.

When the import licence expires, all items must be re-exported. The licence owner shall provide written evidence to the General Command of the Military Forces, to inform of this event.

Paragraph. Whenever the Government authorises the importation of firearms to foreigners, Customs shall record in the applicant's Passport that these firearms shall leave the country together with their owner, this shall be requested and verified by the immigration authorities.
