Artículo 33. Requisitos para Solicitud de Permiso para Tenencia

Para el estudio de las solicitudes de permisos para tenencia, deben acreditarse los siguientes requisitos:

1. Para personas naturales:
a. Formulario suministrado por la autoridad competente, debidamente diligenciado;
b. Presentación de la tarjeta de reservista o provisional militar;
c. Fotocopias de la cédula de ciudadanía y del certificado judicial debidamente autenticadas;
d. Certificado médico de aptitud sicofísica para el uso de armas.

2. Para personas jurídicas:
a. Formulario suministrado por autoridad competente debidamente diligenciado;
b. Certificado de existencia y representación legal;
c. Fotocopias de la cédula de ciudadanía y del certificado judicial del representante legal debidamente autenticadas;
d. Concepto favorable de la Superintendencia de Vigilancia y Seguridad Privada para los servicios sometidos a su vigilancia.

Parágrafo.- El solicitante, además de los requisitos anteriores deberá justificar la necesidad de un arma para su seguridad y protección, circunstancia que será evaluada por la autoridad competente.

Article 33. Requirements for the Request of an Ownership Permit

The following requirements shall be necessary for the assessment of a request for an ownership permit:

1. For individuals:
a. An application form provided by the competent authority, duly filled.
b. Provide a reservist card or interim military card;
c. Photocopies of a citizenship card and of a criminal record, duly authenticated;
d. Medical certificate testifying to the psycho-physical fitness of the applicant to carry weapons.

2. For legal persons:
a. An application form provided by the competent authority, duly filled.
b. Certificate of legal existence and representation;
c. Photocopies of the identity card and the criminal record of the legal representative, duly authenticated;
d. Positive evaluation of the Private Surveillance and Security Administration for services under its authority.

Paragraph. In addition to requirements listed above, the applicant shall provide a justification for the necessity to carry a firearm for his security and protection, circumstances which shall be assessed by the competent authority.
