Artículo 72. Funcionarios Particulares
Los funcionarios que a continuación se detallan tendrán derecho a adquirir previa autorización del Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional, para portar ellos o los miembros de su seguridad, armas de fuego de guerra1 tipo fusil, escopeta, revólver o pistola; racionalmente necesarias para su seguridad personal, la de su familia o bienes; para lo cual deberán obtener un permiso especial (relación art. 11 del reglamento) del Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional, debiendo registrarlas, lo que se efectuará sin más trámite ni diligencia, que la de comprobar su adquisición legal y la respectiva prueba balística:
a) Presidente y Vicepresidente de la República;
b) Los Diputados de la Asamblea Legislativa;
c) Los Designados a la Presidencia de la República;
d) Los Ministros y Viceministros de Estado;
e) El Presidente y Magistrados de la Corte Suprema de Justicia y de las Cámaras de Segunda Instancia;
f) El Presidente y Magistrados de la Corte de Cuentas de República;
g) El Fiscal General de la República;
h) El Procurador General de la República;
i) El Procurador para la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos;
j) El Presidente y Magistrados del Tribunal Supremo Electoral;
k) El Cuerpo Diplomático;
l) El Jefe y Subjefe del Estado Mayor Conjunto de la Fuerza Armada, Directores, Jefes de Conjunto, Comandantes, Jefes de Estados y Planas Mayores de las diferentes Unidades Militares de la Fuerza Armada;
m) El Director y Subdirectores, los Jefes de División y Jefes de Delegaciones de la Policía Nacional Civil.
n) Los Presidentes de Instituciones Autónomas; y,
o) Personas que sean calificadas de alto riesgo de conformidad a la Ley respectiva

Act No. 655 of 1999 on the Control and Regulation of Arms, Ammunition, Explosives and Related Materials
Article 72. Special Officials
Officials listed below may purchase for carrying purposes, subject to authorisation of the Ministry of National Defence, weapons of war1 like rifles, shotguns, revolvers or pistols; which are reasonably necessary for their personal security, family or goods; for which they must obtain a special permit (in relation to article 11 of the Regulation) from the Ministry of National Defence, and must register them, which shall be done without further delay or diligence, in order to verify their lawful purchase and the relevant ballistic tests:
a) President and Vice President of the Republic;
b) Deputies of the Legislative Assembly;
c) Those appointed by the Presidency of the Republic;
d) Ministers and Vice Ministers of the State;
e) The President and Judges of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Second Instance Chambers;
f) The President and Judges of the Court of Auditors;
g) The Attorney General of the Republic;
h) The Solicitor General of the Republic
i) The Attorney for the Defence of Human Rights;
j) The President and Judges of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal;
k) The Diplomatic Corps;
l) The Head and Deputy Head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces; Directors, Heads of Command, Commanders; Chiefs of the different military units of the Armed Forces;
m) The Director and Deputy Directors, the Chief of Division and Chiefs of Delegations of the National Civil Police.
n) The Presidents of Autonomous Institutions; and,
o) Persons listed as under high risk in accordance with the corresponding Law.
