Artículo 34. Exportación e Importación de Armas de Fuego
Para la exportación e importación de armas de fuego y demás Artículos regulados por la Ley el Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional extenderá el permiso especial correspondiente, para lo cual el interesado deberá obtenerlo previo al ingreso o egreso al territorio nacional de dichos Artículos, debiendo reunir los requisitos exigidos en el Art. 16 de esta Ley.
Tanto para la exportación como para la importación de armas de fuego y demás artículos regulados por esta Ley, los interesados deberán previamente remitir al Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional, un listado detallado de los artículos objeto de la transacción, el nombre del destinatario y el remitente en su caso, debiendo constatar que dichas armas no sean desviadas a terceros países.
Cuando se trata de armas de fuego, el importador deberá remitirlas al Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional, para que se le practique la respectiva prueba balística, como requisito previo para su exhibición o venta en los establecimientos.

Act No. 655 of 1999 on the Control and Regulation of Arms, Ammunition, Explosives and Related Materials
Article 34. Export and Import of Firearms
In order to export and import firearms and other items regulated by this Act, the Ministry of National Defense shall issue a special permit, which the applicant must obtain prior to entry into or exit from the territory of such items, and must meet requirements set by Art. 16 of this Act.
Applicants must provide the Ministry of National Defence with a detailed list of the items to be transferred, for both import and export, as well as the name of the end-user and of the sender, and must verify that such weapons are not diverted to third countries.
In the case of firearms, the importer must hand them over to the Ministry of National Defence, in order to carry out the relevant ballistic test, as a prior requirement to their exhibition or sale in the respective establishments.
