Artículo 27. Pruebas Balísticas
…[S]e guardarán debidamente clasificados los proyectiles y vainillas utilizadas en la prueba balística y se devolverá el arma al interesado, extendiéndosele la matrícula respectiva, donde se indicará tipo de matrícula, nombre o denominación social de su titular, marca, modelo, calibre, número de serie, largo del cañón o cañones del arma matriculada, número de registro, color de pavón, lugar y fecha de expedición y su fecha de vencimiento.
El Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional, realizará las pruebas técnicas necesarias para el registro de las huellas balísticas de cada arma de fuego registrada, debiendo mantener archivos sobre las mismas, enviando periódicamente a la Policía Nacional Civil tres pruebas balísticas por cada arma de fuego matriculada.
Para cumplir con lo establecido en el Artículo 26 e inciso anterior, la Policía Nacional Civil y la Dirección General de Centros Penales proporcionará a la Dirección de Logística del Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional la información pertinente y sin costo alguno, debiendo emplear para ello la tecnología y los medios más ágiles que posean.

Article 27. Ballistic Tests
…The bullets and casings used in the ballistic test shall be duly registered and the firearm shall be given back to the applicant, together with the registration certificate, that will specify the type of registration, the name or social denomination of its owner, the brand, model, calibre, serial number, width of the barrel(s) of the registered firearm, the registration number, surface colour, place and date of issue and expiry date.
The Ministry of National Defence shall carry out the necessary technical tests for recording the ballistic fingerprints of each registered firearm, and shall keep an updated archive of the latter, providing to the Civil National Police three ballistic tests of each registered firearm.
In order to comply with what is established under Article 26 and the above, the Civil National Police and the Directorate-General for Prisons shall provide to the Logistics Directorate of the Ministry of National Defence the relevant information, and without further costs, deploying for this purpose the fastest means and technology they possess.
