Artículo 3. Armas prohibidas

Las armas para las cuales no se concede licencia o permiso, y cuya tenencia, porte, uso, transportación, mantenimiento, entrega, recepción, importación y exportación, se consideran ilícitas, son:

a) plumas-pistolas;
b) bastones-fusiles;
c) fusiles con calibre mayor de 5,6 milímetros;
d) ametralladoras y sub-metralladoras de cualquier tipo;
e) armas de fuego de fabricación artesanal;
f) armas de fuego que sean el resultado de modificaciones sustanciales de sus características de fabricación u origen;
g) pistolas o revólveres que lleven adaptado un culatín o lo posean de fábrica;
h) armas de fuego asimiladas bajo la apariencia de cualquier otro objeto;
i) armas de fuego cortas de cualquier calibre, cuyo régimen de realización del disparo sean ráfagas;
j) escopetas recortadas, cualquiera que sea su calibre;
k) armas de fuego con sistemas de puntería óptico, dióptico, óptico electrónico, láser u otros, que no sean de mira abierta;
l) armas de fuego destinadas solamente para el empleo de municiones de salva…

Decree-Law No. 262 of 2008, on Arms and Ammunition

Article 3. Prohibited Arms

The following are firearms for which no licence or permit can be issued, and whose ownership, carrying, use, transport, maintenance, hand-over, collection, import and export are illegal:

a) pen guns;
b) cane rifles;
c) rifles with a calibre greater than 5.6 millimetres;
d) machine and sub-machine guns of any kind;
e) home-made firearms;
f) firearms that have undergone substantial modifications and whose characteristics differ from their original features;
g) pistols or revolvers, which have been modified by [Unknown term 'culatín' - translation required] or which have been manufactured as such;
h) firearms made to resemble any other object;
i) short firearms, of whichever calibre, whose firing mechanism operates in bursts;
j) shortened shotguns, whatever their calibre;
k) firearms with optic, dioptic and electronic aiming devices, other than open view;
