Carrying Firearms and Ammunition in Public Place

21. (1) A person shall not carry any firearm or ammunition in a public place unless at the time when he carries such firearm or ammunition he has about his person a licence, certificate or permit granted by the appropriate authority, authorising him to carry such firearm or ammunition in such place and, if such place is a place to which section 22 applies, a Firearm User's (Special) Permit authorising him to carry such firearm or ammunition in such place on such occasion.

(2) Every person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and, on summary conviction, liable to a fine of five hundred dollars and to imprisonment for three months.
