Artículo 33. (Procedimiento de Adquisición)

I. El Ministerio de Gobierno, en función a las necesidades de la Policía Boliviana emergentes de su mission constitucional legal, podrá adquirir armas de fuego, municiones y otros materiales relacionados de uso policial, de acuerdo a sus requerimientos y necesidades contemplados en el Presupuesto General del Estado y Programación Operativa Anual, debiendo sujetarse a la normativa que regula los procesos de contratación.

II. La Policía Boliviana está prohibida de importar armas de fuego de uso militar.

Article 33. (Procedure for Acquisition)

I. In accordance with the needs of the Bolivian Police, the Ministry of the Interior may acquire firearms, ammunition and other related materials for the Bolivian Police so they can complete their constitutional duty. This is in accordance to the needs and requirements referred to in the State Budget and Annual Operational Programming and must abide by regulations set out in the contracting process.

II. The Bolivian Police are prohibited from importing firearms for military use.
