South Sudan SALW Bill

The government developed a policy for control of SALW in 2011. It has been passed by the council of ministers but not yet approved by the National parliament.

A SALW Bill was developed in 2012, also on the queue to be discussed in Parliament. The ongoing work is on SALW 'regulation'. A committee is drafting it and later also table it for discussion at Parliament.

The passing of these instruments would repeal the Firearms and Explosives regulation and Act of the then-one Sudan.
