Registro de fabricación, tenencia y transferencia
Todas las armas de fuego en manos de la población civil son registradas a través de una base de datos en la Secretaría de Estado de Interior y Policía emitiendo la licencia de Porte y Tenencia de Armas de Fuego, la cual tiene una vigencia de un (1) año desde su fecha de emisión. La información de los registros no caduca. El arma de fuego registrada puede ser transferida a otra persona que reúna los requisitos para la adquisición y tenencia de armas de fuego.
Las instancias de control se materializan en ocasión de la presentación de solicitudes de registro o transferencia, mediante inventario, inspecciones, inscripciones de empresas, control e intercambio de información entre los organismos pertenecientes a las Fuerzas Armadas y el Ministerio del Interior, e incluso con autoridades extranjeras cuyas tareas se relacionan con las armas de fuego y municiones en general. En nuestro país no se fabrican armas de fuego en la actualidad.
En cuanto a la tenencia de armas de fuego, la Secretaría de Estado de Interior y Policía lleva el registro en todo el país de las armas en manos de la población civil y las Fuerzas Armadas y la Policía Nacional registran las armas de uso de sus respectivas instituciones.

Records of Production, Possession and Transfer
All firearms in the hands of the civilian population are registered through a database at the Ministry of the Interior and Police issuing the carrying licence and Possession of Firearms, which is valid for one (1) year from date of issue. The information in the records does not expire. The registered firearm may be transferred to another person who meets the requirements for the acquisition and possession of firearms.
Instances of control take place on occasions in the presentation of applications for registration or transfer through inventory, inspections, registration of companies, control and exchange of information between members of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, and even Foreign authorities whose duties are related to firearms and ammunition in general. In our country firearms are not manufactured today.
As for firearms possession, the Ministry of the Interior and Police keeps a record in the country of weapons in the hands of civilians, and Armed Forces and National Police weapons are recorded by their respective institutions.
