Serbia and Montenegro - Small Arms and Light Weapons Production

The most important small arms producers are Zastava Oružje (small arms and light weapons, Kragujevac), Prvi Partizan (ammunition, Uzice), Krusik (artillery ammunition, Valjevo), and Prva Iskra (ammunition, Baric).

Despite serious difficulties concerning resources, workforce, and markets, Zastava is likely to continue producing arms thanks to a number of state orders, financial help, and the fact that, even during the worst years of war and crisis, development was continuous.

Prvi Partizan benefits from its position as a unique supplier of ammunition for the armed forces. The fate of the other companies is more difficult to forecast and depends very much on the success of the country's export promotion campaign.
