La ley Nº 17.798 en su artículo 3º, establece que ninguna persona podrá poseer armas cuyos números de serie se encuentren adulterados o borrados.

Además, el Reglamento Complementario de la ley establece que todas las armas de fuego deberán someterse al examen del Banco de Pruebas de Chile … a fin de que se certifique sobre su naturaleza, calidad, condición de seguridad y exacta identificación.

Article 3 of Law 17.798 provides that no person may possess a firearm whose serial numbers have been tampered or deleted.

In addition, the Regulation of the Law states that all firearms must be tested at Chile's Testing Centre … in order to produce a certificate about their nature, quality, safety and exact identification.
