Article 18:
The import, manufacture, trade, and export of firearms … are subject to the legal and regulatory provisions on trade.
Regarding firearms referred to in article 161 of this Act; provisions of the preceding paragraph shall apply only if prior authorisation is granted by the competent authority, subject to the legal and regulatory provisions on trade.
[Note: This is the Proposed Act to amend the Ordinance 'Law No 085/035 of September 3, 1985, on the Regime of Arms and Ammunition', in line with the Nairobi Protocol for the Prevention, Control and Reduction of Small Arms and Light Weapons. The first 30 articles of the 2010 Proposed Act are relatively unchanged from the 1985 Law.]
