Pacific Small Arms Legislation: Domestic and regional issues
States that have recently experienced periods of social or political unrest, such as the Solomon Islands and Fiji, have suspended civilian firearm licensing completely since April 1999 and May 2000 respectively.
In both countries, licensed owners have been required to surrender their arms and ammunition to central armouries. (95)
