27. A licence or permit mentioned in Column 2 of the Table below remains valid for the period mentioned in Column 3 of that Table.

Type of licence or permit: Period of validity

- Licence to possess firearm for self-defence: Five years
- Licence to possess restricted firearm for self-defence: Two years
- Licence to possess firearm for hunting and sports-shooting: Ten years
- Licence to possess firearm in private collection: Ten years
- Permit to possess ammunition in private collection: Ten years
- Licence to possess firearm, and permit to possess ammunition, in public collection: Ten years
- Licence to possess firearm for business purposes: Five years
- Licence to possess firearm for business purposes: Two years
