Artículo 96. Jóvenes Tiradores

La DIGECAM autorizará para que tiradores jóvenes aún menores de edad, hasta la víspera de cumplir veinticinco años, puedan hacer prácticas de tiro deportivo, olímpico o de cualquier tipo, quienes deberán acreditar por si mismos o a través de sus padres, tutores o representantes legales, según sea el caso, que efectivamente practican el tiro deportivo y olímpico y que cuentan con el aval de cualquiera de las federaciones, clubes o asociaciones de tiro deportivo debidamente autorizadas para su funcionamiento en la República de Guatemala. Las armas de fuego que dichos tiradores utilicen no podrán ser transportadas por éstos. El traslado se hará a través de la o las personas autorizadas por la DIGECAM al polígono de práctica, al lugar de la competición, o al puerto de embarque cuando éstas sean en el extranjero.

Article 96. Young Shooters

The Office for Arms and Ammunition Control will authorise young shooters who are still minors, until the eve of turning twenty-five years, to practice sport, Olympic or other kinds of sport shooting. They must prove themselves or through their parents, guardians or legal representatives, according to each case, that they truly practice sport and Olympic shooting and that they have the endorsement of one of the federations, clubs or sport shooting associations duly authorised to operate in the Republic of Guatemala.

The firearms used by these shooters cannot be transported by them. The person or persons authorised by the Office for Arms and Ammunition Control will transport the arms to the shooting range, the place where a competition is held or to the shipping point when they are transported abroad.
