L'Appui à la réglementation dans la fabrication artisanale d'armes au Mali:
Ce sont les régions de Kayes, Koulikoro, Sikasso, Ségou, Mopti, Gao et le district de Bamako qui sont concernés par cette activité de fabrication artisanale d'armes avec des zones de concentration comme la région de Mopti (le plateau dogon), la région de Koulikoro et le district de Bamako.
La loi N° 04 - 050 / du 12 Novembre 2004, règlemente l'activité qui est désormais réservée à des personnes d'une certaine moralité, certifiée par des enquêtes de moralité préalables. Les fabricants traditionnels seront initiés sur le système de codification/marquage des armes. Ils seront mieux structurés, ce qui explique leur affiliation à la Fédération Nationale des Artisans du Mali (FNAM) et doivent détenir une licence de fabrication délivrée par les autorités compétentes. On peut délivrer des licences collectives à des groupes et associations au sein desquels seront institués des mécanismes internes de contrôle.
Un atelier national sur la réglementation de la fabrication artisanale », a eu lieu les 23 et 24 avril 2009 au CICB (Centre international de conférence de Bamako), pour mieux informer et sensibiliser les acteurs sur l'état de l'activité de la fabrication artisanale d'armes au Mali et les dangers qu'elle constitue. A l'issue de cette phase, un film documentaire a été réalisé sur la fabrication artisanale et des recommandations ont faites pour l'accompagnement et la formation des artisans dans les régions en vue de la mise en place d'un système de contrôle efficace et participatif de la fabrication et de la commercialisation des armes.

The Support for regulation in home-made firearms in Mali:
The regions of Kayes, Koulikoro, Sikasso, Segou, Mopti, Gao, and Bamako district are affected by this activity of homemade firearms, with areas of concentration such as the Mopti region (the Dogon plateau), the Koulikoro and Bamako district.
The Law No 04-050 of November 12, 2004, regulates this activity, which is now reserved for people of a certain morality, certified by prior investigations of morality. A national workshop on regulation of craftsmanship took place on April 23 and 24, 2009, at the CICB (International Conference Centre of Bamako), to better inform and educate actors to the condition of the home-made firearms' activity in Mali and dangers it represents. Following this phase, a documentary film was made on craftsmanship and recommendations were made for coaching and training of artisans in the regions, in view of the establishment of an effective monitoring and participatory system of the manufacturing and marketing of firearms.
