Marking
The measures taken thus far at various levels and on various fronts has made it
possible to move slowly towards the creation of national records, a weapons
management system and the tracing of weapons. Regarding this last point, the Congo recently received an electronic marking machine from the Regional Centre on Small Arms and Light Weapons in the Great Lakes Region, the Horn of Africa and Bordering States (RECSA).
… It was followed (21 to 23 April 2010) by a training session on the use of the electronic marking machine for small arms and light weapons for members of the public security forces and paramilitary units.
