Under the Arms and Explosives Act and implementing regulations, it is the responsibility of the Armaments Directorate and the agencies under it (Arms Registry, National Arsenal, Arms and Explosives Control Department) to exercise control and oversight in all matters pertaining to firearms, ammunition, explosives and raw materials for producing them.
