Existing Data

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there were 86,000 licensed small arms as of Spring 2003 in Montenegro. This number represents a 7,000 increase compared to 1989 figures, although the ratio per 100 inhabitants has remained stable at 13 due to population growth. While comparative data for the region is not available for 2003, this increase in the number of registered firearms suggests that Montenegro remains one of the countries in the region with the highest rate of registered firearms…
