Collection and Disposal

On March 1, 2005 the Presidential Decree N 119 was issued - "On Approval of the Provision about Writing off and Taking off the Register the property identified as unserviceable or lost weapons, arms and ammunition, belonging to GAF and respective Governmental Agencies ", which identifies rules for writing off and taking off the register of unserviceable or lost end items and ammunition.

Unserviceable arms and ammunition existing in the country are either utilized or destroyed.

Prior to disposal, existing in the country unserviceable arms and ammunition are kept in special depots and are protected by the State Agency, which is accountable for the identified property.

In accordance with Georgian law all confiscated, seized or collected SALW are being destroyed.
