32. Penalty for use and possession of firearms or imitation firearms in certain cases

(1) Any person who —

Any person who displays or attempts to display any firearm or imitation firearm in a public place in such manner as to cause alarm to any member of the public commits an offence and is liable to a fine not exceeding six thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both…..

In this section, "imitation firearm" means anything which has the appearance of a firearm whether it is capable of discharging any shot, bullet or other missile or not.
