Not being a manufacturer, Jamaica purchases small arms and light weapons from overseas brokers/agents.
The Government's armed and security forces request that the SALW being purchased are properly marked prior to shipment. The serial numbers used in this regard are known prior to the shipment and arrival of the weapons into the country.
