44 § (7.6.2019/724) Hankittavaa ampuma-asetta ja aseen osaa koskevat yleiset edellytykset

Aselupa voidaan antaa vain sellaista ampuma-asetta tai aseen osaa varten, joka ei lippaan patruunamäärän, kaliiperin tai muiden ominaisuuksien perusteella ole hakijan ilmoittamaan käyttötarkoitukseen nähden tarpeettoman tulivoimainen ja tehokas sekä joka soveltuu hyvin hakijan ilmoittamaan käyttötarkoitukseen. Jos hakijan ilmoittama käyttötarkoitus on metsästyslainsäädännön mukaan sallittu eläinten ampuminen, ampuma-aseen soveltuvuutta arvioitaessa noudatetaan lisäksi metsästyslakia (615/1993). Metsästyslainsäädännön mukaan sallittua eläinten ampumista varten aselupaa ei voida antaa tämän lain 6 §:n 2 momentin 4–7 kohdassa tarkoitettua ampuma-asetta varten lukuun ottamatta kertatulitoimista pienoispistoolia ja pienoisrevolveria.

44 § (7.6.2019/724) General conditions for the firearm and firearm parts to be acquired

A permit may be issued only for a firearm or part of a firearm which, by reason of the number of cartridges in the magazine, the calibre or other characteristics, is not unnecessarily powerful and effective for the purpose for which it is intended by the applicant and which is well suited to the purpose for which it is intended by the applicant.

If the purpose declared by the applicant is the shooting of animals authorised by hunting legislation, the suitability of the firearm shall also be assessed in accordance with the Hunting Act (615/1993).

A licence for the shooting of animals permitted under hunting legislation may not be issued for a firearm within the meaning of Article 6(2)(4) to (7) of this Act, with the exception of single-shot small pistols and small revolvers.
