[A]t the regional level, Viet Nam has undertaken various measures and initiatives to assure the implementation of the regional agreements to which Vietnam is a party.

The country has entered into several regional and bilateral agreements that aim at preventing the illicit trade of SALWs, such as the Cooperation Agreement with the Philippines (1998); the Cooperation Agreement on the preventing and suppressing transactional crimes, terrorist acts including illicit SALW's trafficking with neighbouring countries such as the Lao PDR and Cambodia.
