10. Establishment of Central Firearms Registry

Uganda has set up a Central Firearms Registry (CFR) for record keeping and management. It was a piloted software unit for firearms management and the system is being populated with data of all marked firearms. Plans are underway to set up a separate registry to accommodate data of UPDF firearms and to expand the unit into a web based online system covering the whole country including equipment and personnel training to handle the demands of fully functional CFR system.
