Amnesty

New Zealand's firearms legislation features a "permanent amnesty provision" for pistols and restricted weapons. In practice, this also applies to MSSAs.

Persons who wish to dispose of any pistol, restricted weapon or MSSA may do so by delivering it to a licensed firearms dealer or the Police.
