40. Requirements relating to primary production

An applicant whose genuine reason for possessing or using a firearm is primary production must, in the case of an application for a Category C firearms licence -

(a) be a person who is a primary producer or who is employed or engaged in the business of primary production; and
(b) produce evidence to the Commissioner's satisfaction that he or she intends to use the firearm solely in connection with -
(i) the suppression of vertebrate pest animals on the land; and
(ii) the destruction of animals to avoid pain and suffering.
