[T]he amnesty was conducted from 1 October to 21 December 2009 with the aim to remove as many firearms and regulated imitation firearms from the community as possible, through public surrender or police seizure.
As a result 706 regulated imitation firearms and 1,025 firearms were seized by or surrendered to police. An additional 150 regulated imitation firearms have been surrendered to police since the amnesty concluded…
