What the legislation states?

Imports

Presidential Decree No. 77/82, articles 30-43. The importer will be registered as a dealer at the General Directory of National Mobilization. To obtain such registration many documentation must be compiled. The imports, nevertheless, do not require previous authorization. The authorities can be made aware of them after they've been brought in.

Exports

Decree No. 77/82, articles 37-39. The General Directory of National Mobilization, body of the Ministry of Defense, will expedite the authorizations for export, which are valid for 6 months.

Transit

Decree No. 77/82. There is no explicit provision regarding the operations of arms transit in large quantities throught the Chilean territory.
