Para la respectiva identificación de las armas propiedad del Gobierno de la República, se establecen letras de codificación:

(A) Revólveres
(B) Pistola o escuadra
(C) Escopetas
(D) Escopetas lanzagases
(E) Lanzagranadas
(F) Carabinas
(G) Fusiles
(H) Fusiles ametralladoras
(I) Subametralladoras
(J) Ametralladoras livianas
(K) Ametralladoras pesadas…
(Ñ) Fusiles sin retroceso (antitanque)
(O) Fusiles especiales para tiro al blanco
(P) Fusiles especiales para cacería
(Q) Carabinas especiales para cacería
(R) Escopetas de cacería

A las que se clasifiquen o creen posteriormente, la Dirección les asignará la letra respectiva de codificación, de lo cual deberá dar informe oportuno a todos los cuerpos policiales del país.

Article 21. Identification

In order to carry out the identification of firearms possessed by the Government of the Republic, the following code letters shall be used:

(A) Revolvers
(B) Guns or pistols
(C) Shotguns
(D) Gas-propelled spearguns
(E) Grenade-launchers
(F) Carbines
(G) Rifles
(H) Machine guns
(I) Sub-machine guns
(J) Light machine guns
(K) Heavy machine guns…
(Ñ) Recoilless rifles (anti-tank)
(O) Special target shooting rifles
(P) Special hunting rifles
(Q) Special hunting carbines
(R) Hunting shotguns

Those firearms that are created or classified at a later stage shall be given a corresponding code letter by the Directorate, of which all police units shall be informed.
