Artículo 4. Control y fiscalización

El control y la fiscalización le corresponden al Poder Ejecutivo, por medio del Ministerio de Seguridad Pública. Se crea la Dirección General de Armamento, dependiente del Ministerio de Seguridad Pública, que se encargará de mantener actualizado el inventario permanente de todas las armas y de ejercer su control y fiscalización. Además, llevará, por medio del Departamento Registro de Armas, la inscripción y el inventario permanente de las armas, las municiones y los explosivos propiedad del Estado. Como entidad oficial encargada subordinada del Ministerio de Seguridad Pública, podrá autorizar, controlar y fiscalizar el uso y manejo de las armas de fuego, municiones y explosivos, de las fuerzas de policía del Estado así como vigilar el cumplimiento de las disposiciones de la Ley de Armas y Explosivos y este Reglamento.

Article 4. Control and Monitoring

The Executive Branch shall oversee the control and monitoring of firearms through the Ministry of Public Security. The Armaments Directorate, dependent on the Ministry of Public Security, is established with the responsibility to permanently keep updated the inventory of all firearms and to carry out its control and monitoring. Further, through the Arms Register Office, it shall also oversee the registration and inventory of all firearms, ammunition and explosives owned by the State. As an official entity subordinated to the Ministry of Public Security, it may also authorise, control and monitor the use and handling of firearms, ammunition and explosives of the State police forces, as well as monitor the compliance with provisions of the Arms and Explosives Act and this Regulation.
