Artículo 5. Inventario de armas de las instituciones públicas

Es responsabilidad de cada uno de los órganos estatales, las instituciones autónomas y semiautónomas, las empresas públicas y las municipalidades autorizadas para poseer armas, la custodia de sus armas y el mantener de forma centralizada y bajo un estricto control y seguimiento, el inventario de dichas armas y su ubicación dentro de la estructura organizativa. Sobre dicho inventario los jerarcas o bien aquella persona o dependencia a la cual el jerarca, de manera formal, le delegue la responsabilidad sobre el control y seguimiento del inventario, deberá remitir, al Departamento de Control de Armas y Explosivos de la Dirección General de Armamento, un informe semestral a más tardar cada 15 de enero y 15 de julio de cada año.

En dicho informe se ha de puntualizar: cantidad, tipo, marca, modelo, calibre, número de serie, número de patrimonio y estado de las armas que posean, así también el nombre o lugar donde se ha asignado cada arma. Además deberán brindar toda la información que la Dirección y sus Departamentos consideren necesaria.

Article 5. Firearms Inventory of Public Institutions

Each state body, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions, public companies and municipalities authorised to possess firearms, shall be responsible for their custody and for keeping in a centralised manner, and under strict control and monitoring, the inventory of these firearms and their location within the organisation's structure. Chiefs, or any individual or body to whom they may delegate the control and monitoring of the inventory, must submit a report every six months to the Armaments Directorate, no later than 15 January and 15 July of each year.

Such report must outline the quantity, type, brand, model, calibre, serial number and registration status of the possessed firearms, as well as the name or place where each firearm has been assigned. Further, it must provide all information that the Directorate and its Departments consider necessary.
