1. The import in, transit through and export from Suriname of firearms and ammunition, other than for the government, is prohibited…

The prohibitory provision of the first paragraph regarding the import or export does not apply to persons for whom possession of a firearm is prescribed – without it being provided to them by the government –; however, only insofar as it concerns the import or export of a firearm of the type and in the quantity as they are obligated to possess, as well as the number of cartridges set for this weapon under Article 15.1
