Section 7. Section 16A replaced
Section 16A of the principal Ordinance [Firearms Ordinance, Chapter 126, 1957] is replaced as follows:
16A. Prohibited Firearms or Ammunition
(1) Subject to this Act, a person shall not use, purchase, acquire or have in his or her possession, import or export, carry, manufacture, supply or offer to supply to another, be concerned in the supplying to another, of any of the weapons specified in the Third Schedule.1
(2) The Governor, acting on the advice of the National Security Council, may exempt any person or class of persons from the provisions of this section.
(3) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable,
(a) on summary conviction to a fine of less than eighty thousand dollars or imprisonment for a term of not less than five years or both; or
(b) on conviction on indictment to a fine of not less than a hundred thousand dollars or imprisonment for a term of not less than ten years or both."…
(5) For purposes of this Act, a "prohibited weapon" means any firearm or other device as listed in the Third Schedule and includes a replica of such prohibited weapon.".
