Article 50
Tout particulier qui transfère à un autre particulier la propriété d'une arme ou d'un élément d'arme de la catégorie C1 ou du 1° de la catégorie D:2
1° Doit s'assurer de l'identité de l'acquéreur et se faire présenter les documents nécessaires à l'acquisition;
2° Doit adresser le récépissé de sa déclaration ou éventuellement de son enregistrement rayé de la mention « vendu » au préfet du lieu de domicile dans les conditions prévues à l'article 46;3
3° Doit conserver pendant une durée de cinq ans copies des documents présentés par l'acquéreur.
L'acquéreur d'une arme de la catégorie C doit procéder à une déclaration d'acquisition et pour une arme du 1° de la catégorie D à une demande d'enregistrement écrites adressées au préfet du lieu de son domicile dans les conditions prévues à l'article 46.
Cette vente peut être constatée par l'armurier.
Il est délivré à l'acquéreur un récépissé par le préfet de département. Ce récépissé est établi conformément à un modèle fixé par l'arrêté prévu à l'article 6.

Decree No. 2013-700 of 30 July 2013 on the Implementation of the Act No. 2012-304 of 6 March 2012 on the Establishment of a Modern, Simplified and Preventive Control of Weapons
Article 50
Any individual transferring to another individual the ownership of a firearm or a firearm component of category C1 or of 1° of category D:2
1° Must verify the identity of the purchaser, and ask him to provide the necessary documents for the purchase;
2° Must send the receipt of his declaration, or, alternatively, of his registration with the notation «sold» to the Prefect of the place of residence in accordance with the conditions listed in Article 46;3
3° Must keep, for five years, copies of the documents presented by the purchaser.
The purchaser of a firearm of category C must proceed to a declaration of purchase, and for a firearm of 1° of category D to a registration request, in written form and addressed to the Prefect of his residence under conditions set in Article 46.
Such sale may be noted by the armourer [gun dealer].
A receipt is issued to the purchaser by the Prefect of the department. Such receipt is established in accordance with a model fixed by the order listed in Article 6.
