Article 171

Est puni de la peine d'amende prévue pour les contraventions de la 5e classe le fait pour toute personne d'exercer à titre individuel l'activité qui consiste à titre principal ou accessoire en la fabrication, le commerce, l'échange, la location, la réparation ou la transformation d'une arme, d'élément d'arme et de munitions, ou de diriger ou gérer une personne morale exerçant cette activité, sans être titulaire d'un agrément relatif à son honorabilité et à ses compétences professionnelles délivré par l'autorité administrative.

Decree No. 2013-700 of 30 July 2013 on the Implementation of the Act No. 2012-304 of 6 March 2012 on the Establishment of a Modern, Simplified and Preventive Control of Weapons

Article 171

Any individual engaged individually in an activity, as a principal or subsidiary occupation related to the manufacture, commerce, exchange, rent, repair, or transformation of a firearm, its components, and of ammunition, or [for any individual] to manage a legal entity engaged in this activity without an authorisation related to his good repute and his professional competencies issued by an administrative authority, is punishable by the fine provided for in offences of the 5th class.

[Offences of the 5th class: willful violence having caused an incapacity to work shorter or equal to eight days; maximum 1,500 euros and 3,000 euros in case of second offence - Article 131-13 of the Criminal Code]
