Article 5

Le marquage lors de la fabrication est apposé sur un ou plusieurs éléments de l'arme à feu et doit être lisible sans démontage de celle-ci. Le numéro de série figure au moins sur la carcasse de l'arme. Le poinçon d'épreuve est apposé, conformément aux stipulations de la convention du 1er juillet 1969, sur toutes les pièces fortement sollicitées par l'épreuve.

Le marquage peut consister en l'apposition d'un code alphanumérique à condition que celui-ci permette de déterminer que l'arme ou les munitions ont été fabriquées en France ou dans un Etat adhérent à la Commission internationale permanente ou, dans le cas prévu au deuxième alinéa de l'article 4,1 que l'arme a été cédée par l'Etat français. Un arrêté conjoint des ministres de la défense et de l'intérieur et des ministres chargés de l'industrie et des douanes détermine les éléments de ce code.

Article 5

The marking, during the manufacture, is affixed on one or several essential components of the firearm and must be legible without its dismantling. The serial number appears at least on the frame of the firearm. The proof mark is affixed according to the conditions provided for in the Convention of July 1st, 1969, for the Reciprocal Recognition of Proof Marks on Small Arms.

The marking may consist of affixing an alphanumerical code provided that it allows to determine that the firearm or the ammunition have been manufactured in France or in a State acceding to the Standing International Commission, or, in the case provided for in the second paragraph of Article 4,1 that the firearm was transferred by the French State. A joint order of the Ministers of Defence and of the Interior and of the Ministers in charge of Customs and Industry determines the elements of this code.
