Artículo 76. Inscripciones Armas de Fuego
La Dirección General y Autoridades Fiscalizadoras podrán inscribir armas de fuego, cuando su poseedor o tenedor cumpla los siguientes requisitos:
a) Ser mayor de edad, acreditado con el certificado de antecedentes para fines especiales.
Se exceptúan de lo antes señalado, los menores de edad que acrediten con un documento otorgado por un club federado su condición de deportista y la necesidad de la inscripción solicitada. Además deberá presentar una autorización mediante declaración jurada notarial, de su representante legal.
El uso y transporte de las armas de estos menores deberá ser supervisado por una persona mayor de edad, quien será legalmente el responsable del uso y transporte de las mismas…
c) Acreditar los conocimientos necesarios sobre conservación y manejo del arma que desea inscribir. Para ello, la Autoridad Fiscalizadora entregará un cuestionario de preguntas, el que será contestado por escrito por el interesado, quien deberá aprobar un porcentaje mínimo del 75% de respuestas correctas, revisión que se efectuará en el instante y en presencia del interesado.
d) Presentar un certificado extendido por un médico psiquiatra, en que acredite poseer aptitud física y psíquica para tenencia y uso de armas de fuego.
Este certificado tendrá una vigencia de 120 días y deberá corresponder a formato establecido en el presente Reglamento.
e) Certificado de Antecedentes para Fines Especiales, para acreditar que el interesado no ha sido condenado por crimen o simple delito…
La Policía de Investigaciones de Chile, remitirá los antecedentes a la Dirección General de Movilización Nacional, cada vez que tome conocimiento de ciudadanos chilenos o extranjeros que hayan ingresado al país y que registren antecedentes judiciales u órdenes de arresto de tribunales extranjeros.
En el caso de una persona condenada por un delito que no merezca pena aflictiva, podrá solicitar la autorización de inscripción de un arma, para lo cual, la A.F. remitirá los antecedentes a la Dirección General, la que informará al Subsecretario de Guerra para su Resolución.
Esta Resolución deberá considerar la naturaleza y gravedad del delito cometido, la pena aplicada, el grado de participación, la condición de reincidencia, el tiempo transcurrido desde el hecho sancionado y la necesidad, uso, tipo y características del arma cuya inscripción se requiere.
La persona condenada con pena aflictiva, por un crimen o simple delito, no podrá inscribir armas.
f) No haber sido sancionado en procesos relacionados con la Ley N°19.325 sobre "Violencia intrafamiliar". Esta situación será comprobada con el Certificado de Antecedentes para Fines Especiales…

Article 76. Firearm Registration
The General Directorate and Control Authorities may register firearms when their owner or bearer complies with the following requirements:
a) To be of legal age, and to provide a background check certificate for special purposes.
Those under the legal age who are able to provide a document issued by a certified sports federation, attesting to their need for the requested firearms, may be exempted from the above condition. c) Provide evidence of the necessary understanding of the firearm's safe-keeping and handling. d) Provide a certificate issued by a psychiatrist which testifies to the applicant's psycho-physical fitness to own and use firearms. Such certificate shall be valid for 120 days and shall correspond to the form established in the present Regulation.
e) Background Check Certificate for Special Purposes, to testify that the applicant has not been convicted of a crime or a misdemeanour…
Chile Investigation Police shall transfer background check records to the General Directorate of National Mobilisation, each time a Chilean citizen or a foreigner enter the country and, to their knowledge, have been known to have criminal records or arrest warrants issued by foreign courts.
In the case of a person convicted of a crime that does not deserve an afflictive punishment, an authorisation for the registration of a firearm may be requested, for which the Control Authority shall forward the background check records to the General Directorate, which shall inform the Sub-Secretary of War and await his Resolution.
This Resolution shall consider the nature and gravity of the crime, the penalty applied, its compliance, possibilities of recidivism, the time passed since the committed crime and the need, use, type and features of the firearm whose registration is requested.
An applicant convicted with an afflictive punishment for a crime or misdemeanour, cannot register firearms.
f) Not to have been sanctioned for crimes related to Act No. 19325 on Domestic Violence. Such circumstances shall be certified by the Background Check Certificate for Special Purposes…
