Guns Now Easier to Own (And without notifying the family) in Italy

As of Friday, September 14, when the measure went into effect, gun laws become less restrictive. There is now no need to notify a family that there are weapons in the house. The Official Gazette published Legislative Decree 104 last August 10. This transposes--the first nation to do so--the European Directive 853/2017 (amending the previous EU Directive 477/1991) making the legislation less restrictive on the possession of legally held weapons. In practice, among other things, it will be easier to possess weapons of military derivation (category B9/A7) such as the Kalashikov Ak-47 and the semi-automatic rifle AR15, often used in massacres in American schools.
The Salient Points
1 - The number of "sporting weapons" that can be held is increased from six to twelve.
2 - The number of rounds allowed in a magazine is increased from 15 to 20 for handguns and from 5 to 10 for long guns.
3 - The duration of a firearm licence for hunting and sports use is reduced from six to five years.
4 - The report of possession can now be sent to the Carabinieri or the Police Headquarters via certified electronic mail.
5 - There is no obligation to inform adult cohabitants that you own guns.
6 - The category of "sport shooters" is extended: not only members of specific federations belonging to the Italian National Olympic Committee, but also members of federations in EU countries, members of national shooting ranges, members of amateur sports associations affiliated with the Italian National Olympic Committee (therefore also private shooting ranges managed by associations affiliated with the Italian National Olympic Committee).
6 - The retroactivity to June 13, 2017 of the obligation to be sport shooters in order to be able to possess weapons of category A6 (demilitarized) and A7 (weapons with central percussion with a magazine of more than ten rounds for long weapons and twenty for short weapons).
As Salvini Wanted
In February, in the middle of the electoral campaign, at the Hit Show (Vicenza fair of arms and hunting) the leader of the Lega Lega Matteo Salvini signed with the Directive 477 Committee, the pro-gun lobby, a document in which he undertook to make the transposition of the European directive as less restrictive as possible.
