Mendi, a Tribal Battle Ground

Yesterday, the former chief executive officer of Mendi hospital Dr Thomas Vinit called the Mt Hagen General Hospital and revealed to the chief executive officer Dr James Kintwa of his plight.

The situation there was getting worse. He requested for accommodation in Mt Hagen on his way to Port Moresby for a new posting there.

If a prominent hospital figure in the province is leaving Mendi hospital, there is no guarantee that all medical staff down the rank and file are not leaving also in fear of their lives.
